Quarantine Life

Hi guys, it has been quite some time. Life did a big 180 on all of us.

I left off discussing the launch of my YouTube channel: Notably Naeilah. When quarantine started, I thought it would not last too long. My original guess was around June/July which would then allow me to get back to my vlogs. I wanted to start off the channel with various vlogs as that’s what I find to be the most exciting and interesting.

Fast forward several weeks, that belief is no where in touch with reality. I had certain video ideas that I wanted to save for when I was back in California and in my apartment. I figured most of my time would be dedicated to school work and working, so in home videos would have been best suited when school comes back around. However, my school has decided to cancel in-class sessions for the semester which will now allow me to put those video ideas into action. This does give me something to look forward to with the decision that new videos will be underway so stay tuned!

Overall, the quarantine experience is a pretty interesting place. Everyday is filled with similar activities which over time can feel overwhelming. Having our responsibilities solely online can be very tiresome as well. For me, getting school work done felt like such a chore but I knew I had to perservere. By getting the work done even when I did not feel like it, I still managed to end the semester with all A’s and a B. Finishing the semester was my biggest relief and a weight was truly lifted off of my shoulders. On the otherhand, I decided to enroll in summer classes because I felt as though if I am going to be bored in the house, I can at least be productive in some way. Summer classes are typically a breeze and I know it will not be anything for me to stress about. In doing so, the work load for my final year will be little to nothing.

During this time, I advise people to be patient with themselves and any endeavors they have started. Not everything will go as planned but as long as the plan does not stop, the goal will be reached in due time. This time is also great to just focus on yourself and do whatever makes you feel alive. That could consist of trying the different TikTok recipes/dances, hiking/biking while social distancing, or performing acts of self-care. Even though the current situation is far from ideal, it is a great opportunity to do things we have always wanted to do. By the time quarantine is over, I hope to perfect my ability to braid hair. Hbu?
