A (gem)ini she is.
This year I had a concept in mind that I wanted to be the focus of my birthday. That being, the gem in gemini. To capture all aspects of the gem concept I looked to my birth chart for inspiration.
The color of my dress stemmed from the color of my birthstone. Lavender was visible on the alexandrite gemstone. The idea came about in March where I began searching for the perfect lavender dress.
Birthdays do not always go as planned and the start of my birthday could support this statement. I found my desired dress in the beginning of April but decided to wait to order it because I believed it was way too early. This was surprising because I usually never hesitate to order in advance.
When it got closer to my birthday- it is now May, I decided that it was time to search for the dress and purchase it. Upon finding the dress I had originally fell in love with, it was sold out. At this moment, I was left with confusion.
The concept of my birthday was something that I knew i did not want to change. The hunt for the perfect dress continued as I went on to purchase accessories for my outfit.
I used pearls as the highlight of my outfit ( I mean besides me of course). A popular trend that rose around this time was the use of bobby pins in one’s hair. My original plan was to have pearl clips that I was inspired by a Pinterest post but I settled on bobby pins as it was easier to find.
The idea of a pearl purse came randomly and I just decided to go through with it. Once I received all of my accessories , I successfully found the dress that would complete this look for me.
After looking back on the concept I created for my birthday, I would not change a thing.
