As my JMS 220 class is coming to an end, I would like to reflect on my mini journey during this class. This consists of the things I have learned and the skill I have developed along the way.
One of the most important skills I have obtained in this class would be the various writing skills to make me successful in a media writing career. One being, how to write in an active voice that is both coherent and organized.
An intriguing part of this class would be learning about broadcasting and public relations as these are my career interests that revolve around journalism. The most valuable aspect in this class was being able to receive the information from the guest speakers that came in and told their stories while giving us advice to build successful careers.
My writing techniques has grown to be able to inform, entertain and persuade simultaneously. In the same manner, I have been able to become a more detail-oriented writer and person as a whole. This has pushed me to ensure I am putting out my best work.
I can thank Beyoncé (and Netflix) for putting out an illustration that can stand as a testament for not only myself but for people to remember to be willing to be a student, to put in the work to obtain your goals, and to never give up on your journey.
