The importance of timeliness crosses over into one’s everyday life. Whether it is time management for work/school or maintaining one’s daily schedule, preparation is key for success.
This week I experienced a major turn over assignment. A turn over assignment is an assignment that needs to be turned over the next day in its entirety. I had the opportunity to work with the Daily Aztec to cover a Thinking Out Loud video. With this opportunity, I gained skill in script writing for broadcasting and learned all the ins and outs of the behind the scenes editing process.
On the day to record the T.O.L video, a situation came about where there was not a camera available for us to use. This resulted in me and my partner having to record, edit, and submit the video the day before the assigned due date.
One may have been put under a large number of stress to to this circumstance, however; my partner and I were able to get it done without any problems. This was because we were well prepared and planned out our next steps. In doing so, we set ourselves up to use the limited time we had left efficiently.
The importance of having good time management skills allows one to stay focused while allowing flexibility in their schedule without affecting the end result.
